The Bottom of the Hill Apartments is a mixed-use proposal at the corner of 17th St and Texas St in Potrero Hill. The project borders both small cottages and large industrial buildings dating back to the 1850’s. Commonly found building materials include wood, masonry, and steel, resisting a dominant building type and materiality.

This project’s massing amplifies the common forms found in the context. The building meets the ground floor with an alternating pattern of enclosed retail spaces and open-air lobbies that connect the public street to an internal courtyard.
